Linda and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Linda Webb has been in the studio this week providing an inspiring subject for Hugo. Linda who has been working with Hugo for over a year teaches yoga and has a background as a dancer. She is also a multi-talented artist with an understanding of the demands of working on both sides of the easel.

Linda’s developing interest in ceramics saw her complete her studies in Latvia this Summer whilst she had time off from her Woodwork and Motorcycle Maintenance Course at Weymouth College. These practical skills serve her well when one’s taste for adventure sees her living on a boat in Weymouth Harbour – surely not for the faint-hearted in Winter.

But perhaps Linda’s bravest adventures are those she takes in her mind. An experienced meditator she practices with the local Plum Village mindfulness group. This simple practice is deeply rooted in Buddhist teaching and insight. Linda’s search for stillness provides a congruent inspiration for Hugos figurative paintings whose joyous meditations on colour could also somehow lead the viewer to experience higher realms of spirit.
